Heck, images of the unannounced device leaked months ago, so its existence is certain. Less sure are the details on when the device will become available, though some telling information showed up on a BlackBerry forum this past weekend. Keep reading for specifics--as well as two brand new images of the BlackBerry Bold "9700." The new device will be the next in RIM's BlackBerry Bold product line, succeeding the popular Bold 9000 smartphone, currently an AT&T exclusive device in the United States. Though rumors suggest the new Bold 9700, codenamed "Onyx," will also land in the States on AT&T, the device could very well be released first outside of North America, as was the Bold 9000 in European countries like Germany and Austria in the summer of 2008. Sony Ericsson on Tuesday took the wraps off Aspen, a new business-oriented smartphone that becomes the first Windows Mobile 6.5.3 mobile device to hit the marketplace. Windows Mobile 6.5.3 is one of the shadowy leaked builds that have popped up since Windows Mobile 6.5 devices began arriving in October. Adding support for capacitive touch, multi-touch and a variety of user interface improvements that replace legacy menu and navigation elements, Windows Mobile 6.5.3 is believed to be Microsoft's attempt to improve on the lackluster 6.5 release while it readies Windows Mobile 7. Aspen is part of Sony Ericsson's GreenHeart line of environmentally friendly smartphones, which are built from recycled plastics and use water-based paints. For this reason, the company describes Aspen as a "business phone with a conscience," although it's unclear whether the device is actually sentient and able to discern between right and wrong. For business users, Aspen features a QWERTY keyboard and offers users the ability to "view and edit office files easily and comfortably," according to Sony Ericsson. Microsoft's MyPhone service, which remotely wipes data from devices when they're lost or stolen, is also part of the package. Windows Mobile 6.5.3 has been hidden under the same shroud of secrecy that has obscured all of Microsoft's mobile plans in recent months. Microsoft has been dropping hints about upcoming mobile related news at Mobile World Congress later this month and at MIX10 next month, but it's anyone's guess as to whether these will involve Windows Mobile 7. One theory gaining steam in the Microsoft channel is that the software giant will make Silverlight 4 the platform for building native applications in Windows Mobile 7 and future generations of Windows Phones. This makes sense because developers could reuse the .Net code they create for desktop applications to build applications for mobile devices and the Web. Given the precarious position Microsoft is facing in the mobile space, the company is going to have to shake things up and come up with a new approach. New cellular phones: AT&T presents new phones targeted to messaging lovers and with a new browser

AT&T has launched 4 new phones (or messaging phones to be exact) that include a new browser to allow users to have a good Web experience if they need to visit some pages on Internet.

These new phones are called: Pantech Impact, Pantech Reveal, Samsung Flight, and Samsung Mythic. All of them have a web browser based on Opera that is able to display HTML pages with more precision (which is a rare feature in phones that are not classified as smarthphones) and, besides that, it uses data compression to reduce the bandwidth overhead on the 3G network. Also, it provides shortcuts to location-sensitive news, maps and useful links.

In this group of new devices, Pantech’s phones will be maybe the most remarkable ones, especially the Pantech Impact. Although we don’t have many details yet, we know the Pantech Impact is a unique flip phone that comes with an OLED touchscreen for common tasks. Also, it has a keyboard and a secondary display that is intended to be used as a messaging display.

On the other hand, the Pantech Reveal is a semi-conventional slider with a numeric keyboard on the closed design and a vertical QWERTY slider keyboard. Also, it supports 3G and GPS capabilities. AT&T has not revealed the price yet but the company has announced that the Pantech Reveal will be available for sale on October 18.

A Black berry storm 2; Touch SCreen CeelPhone

During the last weeks, RIM (Research In Motion) -along with Vodafone- introduced the new Storm2 9520, which is the new BlackBerry alternative with a real touchscreen display.

The Storm2 (the same as its predecessor during the first days of the original BlackBerry Storm) can be considered a singular device due to the way in which its touchscreen display interacts with the users.

Although, apparently, it is a conventional screen that detects the presence and location of a touch within the display area, the Storm2 has a different approach. Actually, it has an internal electronic system that is intended to offer a user experience very similar to the one with the regular touchscreen technology (at least, it imitates the sensitive experience in an efficient way). But, the main objective is to simulate the experience of using a physical keyboard by including improved features such as an audible clicking sound along with vibrating haptic feedback and selection lights when the user touches a virtual key. And we have to say that these improvements are really impressive.

The new model comes with a new version of the technology called “SurePress”, which is now totally electronic, unlike to the first version used in the original Blackberry Storm included some mechanical elements to perform a simulation of physical clicking when the user browses the menus.

And another great thing with the BlackBerry Storm2 is that, with the new system, the screen becomes totally “solid” when it is turned off, allowing to avoid accidental clicks, which is an annoying thing that happens with the original BlackBerry Storm.

Nokia 5800 is one of the best awaited cell phone

Nokia 5800

Nokia have been the top seller of mobile phones for a long time now and want to revive the market with their Nokia 5800 / N97 touch screen phone - their effective iPhone killers (Nokia N97 N-series touch phone has already been announced and released this year).

From Q3 2007 to Q3 2008 they lost 15.4% of the market share, dropping to 35%, due mainly to the iPhone. With the release of the Apple iPhone it has caused a ripple in the market and mobile phone manufacturers have realised that they need to raise their game. Blackberry have out their Storm 9500 (bottom of top 10) which will be a hot gadget of 2009 (once it gets the firmware it needs to speed up navigation) and will be available before the end of the year. Sony have their X1 touch phone out which, if it was running Google Android, would probably be my number 1 - as it is gorgeous to look at. But since the X1 has Windows Mobile 6 and is therefore rather slow and clunky, it’s not. HTC have release their G1 which albeit has the best mobile OS in my opinion, Android, doesn’t leverage it and certainly isn’t attractive - no where near the iPhone killer it was marketed as. more information…
